Biography
Pianist Lindsay Gilroy graduated from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Performance, gaining First Class Honours. She was awarded the University of Sydney Medal and has completed her Master of Music Degree. She has been the recipient of numerous scholarships, including the prestigious University of Sydney Postgraduate Award.
In her early teens, Lindsay gained both the Associate and Licentiate AMEB Diplomas with Distinction, as well as the Associate Diploma in Piano Performance from Trinity College London. She was twice a National Finalist in the Keyboard Division of the Symphony Australia Young Performers Awards, where she performed MacDowell’s Concerto No. 2 and Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 3 with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.
Lindsay has won numerous awards and competitions throughout her career and performs extensively across Sydney and country NSW as a soloist, ensemble and vocal pianist.

August 14 – August 24: Member of the artistic staff for the Moorambilla Festival of New Australian Music in Coonamble, NSW. Accompanist for choral workshops and Moorambilla Regional Children’s Choir.

Perfomed solo recitals for the East Killara, Wahroonga, Macarthur and Roseville Music Clubs.
February 9th concert for East Killara reviewed as “gratifying… an impressive talent worth nurturing” by Fred Blanks, North Shore Times (February 16th).
Performed live broadcast for Sydney Radio station 2MBS-FM’s ‘Emerging Artist Series’.
May: Musical Director and pianist for the production of Puccini’s Madam Butterfly at the Riverside Theatre, Parramatta with ‘Simply Opera’.
July: Formed Duo Arethuse with violinist Marianne Broadfoot, participating in the Winter School of the Australian Festival of Chamber Music in Townsville.

Performed the Khachaturian Piano Concerto with the Kuring-gai Philharmonic Orchestra as the Senior Winner of the Kuring-gai Concerto Competition in 2000.
